Khopra Ridge (Khopra Danda)
The Khopra Ridge Trek is a fantastic hidden trail in the Annapurna region that combines the best elements of classical trekking with a sense of genuine exploration. Designed to benefit local communities, the trail features unique community-run lodges. The trek starts similarly to the Poon Hill route but quickly diverges into quieter forests and alpine meadows. Upon reaching Khopra Ridge (3,660m), you are treated to jaw-dropping, unobstructed views of Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and Nilgiri, arguably surpassing the views from Poon Hill. For the adventurous, a challenging but rewarding day trip from the ridge takes you to the holy alpine waters of Khayer Lake (4,600m), nestled at the foot of Annapurna South. This trek is perfect for those seeking stunning panoramas, cultural immersion, and peaceful trails.
